Capacity Building Program - Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) of Women At Workplace And Higher Educational Institutes

The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organized a One-Day Capacity Building Program on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) of Women at Workplace and Higher Educational Institutions. The program aimed to create awareness, enhance legal literacy, and strengthen institutional responsibility in fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic environment.

The program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Shaila K. Karagi, Women and Child Welfare Officer, who appreciated the Institute’s proactive initiative in addressing this significant and sensitive issue. In her address, she highlighted the importance of spreading awareness about the PoSH Act and emphasized that ensuring safety at the workplace is crucial for the holistic development and professional continuity of women.

The event was presided over by Mr. Manel Annappa Nayak, President of the Women’s National Education Society (WNES), who reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting gender-sensitive practices in higher education.

Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri, Director, extended her support to the initiative, reinforcing the Institute’s dedication to compliance, awareness, and institutional accountability.

The sessions were conducted by distinguished resource persons, Mrs. Merlyn Martis, Director & Chief Functionary of DEEDS, and Dr. Laxmish Rai, Certified PoSH Trainer, who provided in-depth insights into the legal framework and practical aspects of implementing PoSH guidelines.

The program witnessed active participation from delegates representing various educational institutions and corporate organizations. Faculty members, staff, and students of the Institute engaged enthusiastically in the interactive sessions, which facilitated meaningful discussions, clarifications, and reflections on safety, equality, and institutional best practices.
