Awareness of Fake Websites related to Passport Services by Mr. Nagaraj Bhat, Manager at Passport Seva Kendra, Mangaluru & Mr Roshan Shetty

A talk was arranged for all students to create awareness on the various fraudulent websites offering passport services. Mr Nagaraj Bhat , Manager , Passport Seva Kendra and Mr Roshan Shetty were the resource persons. Mr Nagraj Bhat informed the students on the authentic government website for application of passports. He said that fake websites charge exorbitant amounts to process passports, when the actual charges are merely ₹1500 for regular, ₹ 3500 for tatkal passports. He said that only two documents- proof for date of birth and address proof are the only documents required for application of passport, and the process has been simplified and streamlined. He also mentioned that in cases where the details do not match , certain alternate or additional documents may be required.

Mr Roshan Shetty explained the process of applying for passport and answered queries from the audience. He explained that a citizen whose passport has expired needs to only renew it and not apply for a fresh passport. Following the program the resource persons answered various queries by the students. They suggested that a student representative may collect documents from interested students and submit it to the Passport Seva Kendra for verification and offered to hold a session at a future date for processing application in campus.

The program began with a prayer by Ramyavani of I MBA, and welcome address by Shivani I MBA. Shraddha of I MBA proposed the vote of thanks. Dean Dr Vishnu Prasanna, Faculty and students of I and I MBA attended the program.
