Traditional Day - Samskrithika Rang
The much-awaited Traditional Day – “Samskritika Rang 2k25” was celebrated on 5th August 2025 at the Besant Campus, Bondel, Mangaluru. The event aimed to promote cultural heritage, showcase traditional attire, and encourage enthusiastic student participation in various cultural activities.
The programme commenced at 10:00 AM with Master of Ceremony Ms. Karishma Shetty warmly welcoming the gathering, followed by a soulful prayer rendered by Kripa & Team. In a gesture honoring rich Tulu traditions, Ms. Manasa, Faculty Coordinator, accorded a traditional welcome to the Director by presenting a betel leaf and arecanut—symbolizing respect, goodwill, and cultural pride. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked the formal inauguration, representing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and tradition. The Presidential Address by the Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri, Director, MSNIM highlighted the importance of preserving cultural roots while embracing modernity. The formal session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Moksha.
The informal cultural session began at 10:30 AM with comperes Vaibhav & Pallavi hosting a vibrant line-up of performances. The morning featured melodious songs, a ramp competition showcasing traditional attire, energetic dances by junior and senior students, and a spirited singing competition. A rhythmic Chende performance stood out as a highlight, electrifying the atmosphere.
Post lunch, the celebrations continued with more dances, songs, and engaging games. A special moment of the afternoon was when the teaching and non-teaching staff graced the ramp with an elegant and impressive show, much to the audience’s delight. Prizes for the Ramp Competition were then distributed, adding excitement and encouragement for the participants.
The day concluded with a lively DJ session, bringing together students and faculty on the dance floor and creating unforgettable memories. Samskritika Rang 2k25 successfully blended tradition with entertainment, leaving everyone with a sense of cultural pride, unity, and joy.
