MSNM Knowledge Series on Indian Air Force – A Path to a Fulfilling Career

Our Institute organized an engaging session on “Indian Air Force – A Path to a Fulfilling Career” on Thursday, September 4, as part of its MSNM Knowledge Series. The talk was delivered by Air Vice Marshal P. K. Kuruvilla, VSM (Retd), a distinguished veteran with over three decades of service in the Indian Air Force.

The MSNM Knowledge Series, named after the institute’s founder president, the late Manel Srinivas Nayak, is a flagship platform that brings eminent speakers to share insights on topics of high relevance and inspiration. Introducing the series, Assistant Professor Manasa highlighted its vision of disseminating knowledge and inspiring students through impactful academic interactions.

In his address, Air Vice Marshal Kuruvilla shared valuable lessons from his illustrious career, emphasizing how the Air Force instills discipline, resilience, teamwork, and leadership among its personnel. He encouraged students to consider the Indian Air Force as not just a profession, but a meaningful career dedicated to national service. He also outlined the wide range of opportunities available in operational, technical, and administrative roles within the force. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students enthusiastically explored various aspects of defence services and career prospects.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Susan Kuruvilla, Manel Annappa Nayak (President, WNES), Ajith Kamath (Correspondent, MSNIM), Vittaldas Leeladhar (Former Deputy Governor, RBI & Governing Body Member, MSNIM), Raghav Kamath (Former GM, Corporation Bank & Governing Body Member, MSNIM), Sham Bhat (Chief Executive, TCS iON Test Centre), Rajkumar Rao (Classmate of Air Vice Marshal Kuruvilla), and Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri (Director, MSNIM).

The programme began with the symbolic planting of a sapling to represent growth and inspiration. Student Council President Keerthana Shetty delivered the welcome address and introduced the speaker, while Karishma Shetty (MBA 2nd year) proposed the vote of thanks. Shreya Mahale skillfully compered the event.

This inspiring session reinforced the MSN Knowledge Series’ mission of broadening horizons for students and encouraging them to explore rewarding and purpose-driven career paths.
