International Yoga Day - 2025

Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), in collaboration with Yuvanika Foundation, UN Volunteers India, Health Volunteers, and Delampady Yoga Prathistana, celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 on the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” at the MSNIM campus in Mangalore, Karnataka.

The programme began with introductory remarks by Mr. Raghuveer Souterpete from Yuvanika Foundation, who highlighted the importance of yoga in shaping resilient young minds while fostering mental strength and physical well-being.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Mohammed Iqbal, District AYUSH Officer, Government of Karnataka. In his address, he emphasised yoga as a holistic discipline rooted in Ashtanga Yoga’s eightfold path, nurturing mental clarity, inner harmony, and self-awareness alongside physical health.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Rishi Banshiwal, Founder of Health Volunteers India, addressed rising global health challenges and emphasised yoga as a powerful tool for personal and national well-being. On his behalf, a message was shared from Mr. Sushil Chaudhary, Country Coordinator, United Nations Volunteers India, conveying his best wishes and appreciating the organisers for their collaborative efforts.

Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri, Director of MSNIM and President of the programme, shared insights on “Yoga: A Journey of Discipline, Balance, and Self-Discovery.” She beautifully broke down YOGA as Yearning, Optimisation, Growth, and Awareness, reflecting its deeper meaning, and described it as India’s timeless gift to global well-being and conscious living.

The programme featured yoga instruction by Mr. Karthik Shetty and Ms. Harini from Delampady Yoga Prathistana, with active participation from:

  • Ms. Prathvika and Mr. Danish (Yuvanika Foundation)
  • Mr. Hithesh Bangera and Mr. Deekshith Naik (UN Volunteers India)
  • Faculty members, students, and Health Volunteers.

The event was smoothly coordinated by Mrs. Yogitha Shetty, Assistant Administrative Officer, and anchored by Ms. Keerthana K. Shetty, President of the Student Council and second-year MBA student. Guests were warmly welcomed by Ms. Manasa, Assistant Professor, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Divya Achar, Assistant Professor.

The International Yoga Day celebration at MSNIM inspired participants to embrace yoga as a journey towards a healthier, balanced, and more mindful life.
