Inauguration of MSNIM Posh CELL by Mrs. Merlyn Martis (Director & Chief Functionary, Deeds)

University Grant Commission published a notification titled University Grants Commission (Prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations 2015, which mandates all universities, colleges and deemed to be universities to follow a set of guidelines to ensure that the campuses are free of sexual harassment. Accordingly, Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) inaugurated MSNIM POSH Cell on 2/8/23 at Swarna Academy Hall by Dr. Mrs. Merlyn Martis, Director, Development Education Society (DEEDS), Kadri, Mangalore. She has expertise in the field of women empowerment

After inauguration of the cell, Dr. Molly S Chaudhuri, Director, MSNIM, greeted florally the committee members of the POSH Cell. Later, the chief guest, Mrs. Merlyn, briefly summarized the scope and importance of posh cell in the educational institute and explained rules and regulations of the act. She also clarified the doubts of the students related to POSH act.

Dr. Molly S Chaudhuri, in her presidential remarks, said knowledge of posh act is mandatory for each student as they move into professions. While studying, they should be aware of the limitations of interactions with other sex students.

After the presidential remarks, Ms. Sreeraksha Prabhu, first year student, delivered the vote of thanks.

The programme ended with National Anthem, and the POSH committee members sat for a meeting.
