Faculty Development Programme on: Empowering Faculty for High-Impact Research and Publication

The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) successfully conducted a 5-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Empowering Faculty for High-Impact Research and Publication” from 5th to 9th May 2025. The programme aimed to equip faculty members with essential skills and knowledge to undertake impactful research and produce high-quality publications.

Day-wise Summary

Day 1 – 5 May 2025
Speaker: Dr. Savitha Basri
Designation: Professor, Manipal School of Commerce and Economics, MAHE
Topic: Problem Identification - How to find research gaps and write objectives for qualitative and quantitative papers
Dr. Basri initiated the FDP by highlighting the significance of clearly identifying research problems. She explained various methods for discovering research gaps and crafting effective research objectives for both qualitative and quantitative studies.

Day 2 – 6 May 2025
Speaker: Dr. Shilpi Saha
Designation: Assistant Professor, MSNIM
Topic: Types of Quantitative and Qualitative Research

Dr. Saha provided an in-depth understanding of different research methodologies, elaborating on various approaches within quantitative and qualitative paradigms and their applications in real-world research.

Day 3 – 7 May 2025
Speaker: Dr. Suhan Mendon

Topic: Conceptual Framework & Theory Building
Dr. Mendon focused on developing conceptual frameworks and building theoretical foundations. His session emphasized the importance of theory in guiding research and enhancing academic contributions.

Topic: Elements of an Effective Research Paper for Scopus and Tips for Publication
Dr. Lakshminarayanan concluded the FDP by sharing insights on writing high-impact research papers suitable for Scopus-indexed journals. He provided practical tips for enhancing publication success and avoiding common pitfalls.

Conclusion

The FDP received active participation from faculty members across various institutions.
