Voluntary Blood Donation Camp

NSS UNIT Under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) #INDIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY + D.K. District Branch, Mangalore Invites you to the Inauguration of YOUTH RED CROSS WING followed by VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross, DK district branch, organized a voluntary blood donation camp to mark the inauguration of its Youth Red Cross unit on April 8. A total of 54 people donated blood on this occasion.

CA Shantharam Shetty, chairman of the Indian Red Cross, D.K. District Branch, inaugurated the programme. Dr Gayathri N, nodal officer, Youth Red Cross, Mangalore University, and Praveen Kumar, blood bank coordinator, Indian Red Cross Society, were the chief guests. Manel Annappa Nayak, president of the Women’s National Education Society, presided over the function. The institute director, Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, and Deekshitha, assistant professor at Besant Women’s College and Indian Red Cross Society member, were present.

Addressing the gathering, Shantharam Shetty informed that the Indian Red Cross Society conducts various social and humanitarian activities, including voluntary blood donation camps. “Students should develop social commitment alongside education. Donation of blood is the greatest charity of all. Each person should work to save at least three lives by donating their blood,” he said.

Dr Gayathri N appealed to the students to participate in the good work being done by the Indian Red Cross Society. “Donating blood not only saves lives but also helps in maintaining one's health,” she said. Deekshitha, a recipient of the best volunteer award from both the Indian Red Cross Society and Mangalore University, shared her experience in organizing camps and volunteering under the Indian Red Cross Society.

Anushree welcomed the gathering. Aparna Shenoy gave the vote of thanks. Sharanya anchored the program. Suresh Shenoy was the faculty coordinator of the programme.
