Capacity Building Programme on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at workplace and Educational Institutes

MSNIM POSH Cell and MSNIM IQAC jointly organized a one-day capacity-building programme on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at workplace and higher educational institutes on Thursday, 23rd November 2023.

Mr. Manel Annappa Nayak, President of Women’s National Education Society (WNES), graced the occasion.

The main objectives of the programme were.

• To raise awareness among members about gender sensitization in organizations.
• To make the organizational community conscious of the importance of understanding and addressing gender-related issues.

The target group for the training was the faculty members of educational institutes and the corporate employees.

The programme dealt with sessions such as Gender Issues at Workplace, Nature of Sexual Harassment, Global and National Stand on Prevention of Sexual Harassment, POSH Law, and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).

Mrs. Merlyn Martis, Director & Chief Functionary, DEEDS, Kadri, Mangalore, Dr. Molly S Chaudhuri, Director, MSNIM, Dr. Laxmish Rai, Secretary, NIPM, Mangalore Chapter and Mrs. Nanditha Sunil were the resource persons. The sessions were discussed with case studies and current examples so that the incumbents get clear cut information on POSH.

A total of 15 delegates, including in-house employees, attended the programme.

Participants actively participated and interacted with the resource persons and shared their views about POSH.
