Guest Talk on Scope and Opportunity in Financial Services by Mr. Umesh Revankar (Executive Vice Chairman at Shriram Finance Limited)

A session on “Scope and Opportunities in Financial Services” was organised on 7thAugust 2023. The Resource person was Mr. Umesh Revankar, Executive Vice Chairman, Sriram Finance Limited.

Mr. Umesh Revankar gave a brief introduction about the wider scope of finance services that exist today. He talked about the various career roles a student can opt in the field of financial services such as Investment Banking, Asset Management, Financial planning as financial analysts, Portfolio Managers, Investment Banker and Financial Consultants.

Mr.Umesh also talked about investing in Mutual Funds – “how an investor can invest in a diversified portfolio of stocks, bonds and other assets”. He also emphasized on “how to get maximum benefits from diversification of investments for good returns.

Mr.Revankar mentioned that insurance companies are widening job opportunities under various roles such as claim adjusters, risk analyst and legal advisors.
