‘POSH TRAINING’ - By Dr. Reema Agnes Frank

The training on “POSH” by Dr. Reema Agnes Frank, Associate Professor, MSNIM was conducted to first year students on 20th January, 2025 at Swarna Academy Hall.

She started the session by mentioning about the Vishaka case which was the reason for introduction of Act relating to POSH (Protection of Sexual Harassment). She also mentioned about the objective of POSH Act i.e. preventing and protecting women against workplace sexual harassment, and effective redressal of complaints of sexual harassment.

She mentioned about various acts that could be accounted as Sexual harassment at workplace. Workplace could be any place where working or professional relationship exists. Students were given various situations where they were asked to identify if any sexual harassment acts were involved or not.

She also mentioned about various obligations that an employer has in an organization and also about the consequences that a person may need to face in-case he/she is involved in any such acts of sexual harassment.

She told briefly regarding who can file cases of sexual harassment and also about internal committee and procedures involved.
