MSNIM Raises Awareness on Gynaecological Cancer
Mangalore, March 12, 2024
The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) organised an enlightening awareness talk on gynaecological cancer featuring Dr. Sangeetha K., Associate Professor at Srinivas Medical College, Mangalore. The event took place on March 12, 2024, at the institute's Bondel campus. This initiative was spearheaded by the institute's Women's Cell as part of the MSN Health Series and aligned with International Women's Day on March 8.
During the session, Dr. Sangeetha K. addressed MBA students and faculty members of MSNIM, providing a comprehensive overview of the risk factors, protective measures, and treatment options related to prevalent gynaecological cancers such as ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, breast cancer, and vaginal cancer. Emphasising the importance of awareness, she stressed, "Educating individuals aged 15 to 25 about the early symptoms of gynaecological cancers is crucial for prevention. Presently, the government is placing significant emphasis on cervical cancer prevention and actively promoting cervical cancer vaccination among girls aged 9 to 14."
Institute Director Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri presided over the function. Anushree welcomed the gathering. Manisha Amin anchored the programme and delivered the vote of thanks. Sathvika Shetty and Sanath Bhandarkar were the faculty coordinators of the programme.
