October 10, 2019

World sight day is observed annually on the second Thursday of October, it is a global event meant to draw attention on blindness and vision impairment. It was originally initiated by the SightFirstCampaign of Lions Club International Foundation in 2000. This years call to action is “Vision First”. Eyesight is one of the senses many of us take for granted. More than a billion people around the world are visually impaired, simply due to the fact that they have limited or no access to eye care or corrective lenses.  Yet many of us fail to take adequate care of our own eyes.

On this occasion, under the MSNM Health series a talk on eye care was delivered by Dr Ajay Kamath, Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, KMC Mangalore. The program began with a prayer by Sushmitha. Divyashree welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest speaker.
