Dengue Awareness Campaign 2024
MSNIM-NSS Unit, Under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Primary Health Centre, Bondel; Rotary Club Downtown and Sreedevi Nursing College Invites all to the "Dengue Awareness Campaign".
Mangalore: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), in collaboration with the Primary Health Centre, Bondel, Rotary Club Mangalore Downtown, and Shree Devi Nursing College, Mangalore, organized a dengue awareness campaign on Thursday, August 8, 2024. The programme was followed by a procession toward Bondel Circle, where MSNIM students performed a street play, and students from Shree Devi Nursing College presented a mime show and skit.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Savitha S.G., Medical Officer at the Primary Health Centre, Bondel inaugurated the programme. Jayaraj K., Secretary of Rotary Club Mangalore Downtown and Shreshta H. Amin, Assistant Lecturer at Shree Devi College of Nursing were the guests of honour. MSNIM Director Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri presided over the programme. Prashanth, Health Inspector at the Primary Health Center, Bondel and Eknath Dandekeri, a member of the Board of Directors of Rotary Club Mangalore Downtown were present.
In her address, Dr. Savitha S.G. informed the students about dengue fever, its causes, signs, and symptoms, and stressed the importance of early detection. She also shared valuable tips on preventing mosquito breeding, a crucial factor in controlling dengue.
Jayaraj K. emphasized the importance of community participation in health campaigns, stating that awareness is key to preventing diseases like dengue. Shreshta H. Amin spoke about the role of nursing professionals in managing and controlling diseases like dengue.
In her presidential address, Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri affirmed MSNIM's commitment to improving public health through education and community action.
First-year MBA student Keerthana Shetty welcomed the gathering, Shrinidhi delivered the vote of thanks, and Nikitha anchored the programme. Assistant Professor Suresh Shenoy and NSS Coordinator Thyagraj were the faculty coordinators of the programme.
