The session started with the brief intro of the music industry in the world & India. How the Indian films have songs for every occasion. And how songs were recorded in Germany way back. The evolution of music companies like HMV. The first song of the Indian Film industry. The first music female music director of India etc.

The journey of music composers, singers, lyricists & music directors of Indian Film industry till date was discussed by Dr. K. Rajesh Nayak. Some of the famous incidents that shaped the music industry. The rise & fall of music maestros, the issue of royalty, the transformation of grama phone records to cassettes and then to music CDs. And now how the scenario has changed with the advent of music streaming apps & YouTube.

There was an interesting question & answer/quiz relating to the Indian Film music, where students were asked to identify songs, music director or singer etc. along the session & students participated enthusiastically throughout the session as they were rewarded by Perk(chocolates).

The session was entertaining & educative. It was an energizing flashback on the Indian film music, refreshing some of the memories associated with songs & films.
