Agneya 2023
The Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) organised ‘Agneya 2023’, a cultural fest for undergraduate students, on Friday, April 28, at the institute campus in Bondel. The theme for the event was ‘LaFusion: Twist in Tradition’. The fest included dance competition, face painting, reels making, singing, fashion show and street play. Students from 15 colleges in and around Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts participated.
Vasudeva Kamath, vice president, development centre head, Infosys Technologies Limited, was the chief guest for the inauguration ceremony. Jeevandas Narayan, secretary, Women’s National Education Society and Raghav Kamath, member of the governing body of the institute were the guests of honour. Manel Annappa Nayak, president, Women’s National Education Society, presided over the function.
In his inaugural address, Vasudeva Kamath appreciated the efforts of Besant institutions to provide quality education to students at a low cost. "India has developed a wide scope for many big job roles around the world and young people have many ideas and solutions that require support.
Patience is the key to building a strong foundation and identifying your niche to stand out in a crowd by using fair practices. Education and learning are continuous processes. As students, you have to keep yourself fully updated with the latest developments. Make the most of your opportunities and experience the happiness of helping one more child to achieve his or her dreams," he said. A hobby singer, Vasudeva Kamath advised the students to have at least one hobby and delighted them by singing the Oscar-winning film song, Natu Natu.
First-year MBA students led the invocation. The institute director, Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, welcomed the gathering. Lenisha Peris gave a vote of thanks. Tripthi anchored the programme.
Valedictory Function
Sharan Chilimbi, a digital creator and media influencer, was the chief guest for the valedictory and prize distribution function held in the evening. In his address, Sharan Chilimbi appreciated the students' zeal and energy. Sharing his experiences, he recalled that his friends liked his sense of humour and this made him choose the profession of being a media influencer. "Students have to figure out what makes them happy in the long run. To be successful, one has to be patient, make a proper plan and put in effort to make the plan a success. Always do something different and do what gives you joy," he advised.
Manel Annappa Nayak, president, Women’s National Education Society, presided over the programme. Nidhi Pai welcomed the gathering and made the introductions. Akshaya B. Rao gave a vote of thanks. Tripthi anchored the programme.
